We are recruiting an Internal Communications Officer to inspire and engage 4,000 colleagues through strong writing, creative campaigns and thoughtful planning that brings our values to life.

Become a Internal Communications Officer
You will be key player in our mission to inspire and engage our colleagues through exceptional copywriting, creative campaigns, and meticulous planning. Reporting to our Internal Communications Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering our internal communications and engagement strategy for around 4,000 colleagues! - bringing our purpose, values, and brand to life through captivating channel content across employer brand, reward and recognition, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion strategies. This role is all about storytelling, celebrating our successes, and creating a vibrant community of engaged and informed colleagues… all whilst having fun along the way!
Your Mission
Calendar of activity: Support the Internal Communications Manager to deliver strategy and calendar of comms, campaigns and events.
Offer Strategic Advice: Offer strategic communications advice and support to stakeholders, guiding and coaching colleagues to achieve their communications goals.
Create Campaigns: Create eye-catching communications campaigns and materials to promote various projects, events, and activities to colleagues.
Coordinate Events: Coordinate engagement events and activities, whilst considering those colleagues that are hybrid workers, in-store, in our Distribution Centre and Support Centre.
Design and Copywriting: Use your design and copywriting skills to bring our fun tone of voice and employer/corporate brand to life for our Crafty, Caring and Can-Do colleagues.
Communicate Campaigns: Communicate the great work we’re doing in our across our environment, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and Time Well Spent campaigns.
Promote Surveys: Support the promotion and follow-up of our annual engagement survey.
Manage Channels: Create content for and coordinate our internal communication channels and platforms, including email, MyWorks communications platform, internal Facebook group, noticeboards, digital signage, and newsletters.
Collate Content: Work with stakeholders and colleagues across the business to collate content ensuring clarity, consistency, tone of voice, and quality of content across every touchpoint.
Evaluate Effectiveness: Use our Communications Dashboard to evaluate the analytics and effectiveness of our communications and channels used, to make recommendations for future campaigns.
Manage Relationships: Liaise with suppliers and providers to ensure appropriate delivery of campaigns and projects.
Support Fundraising: Support fundraising events and communications to promote charity partnerships and local fundraising activities.
IC Strategy: Own elements of the IC annual plan to ensure the IC Strategy is delivered
in-line with objectives and timeframes.
Skills/Behaviours That Will Set You Apart
Internal Comms Pro: You’ll be an internal comms pro with previous experience working in internal communications for a fast-paced organisation.
Deliver Campaigns: Evidence of delivering campaigns and colleague experience activities to wide and varied audiences.
Copywriting Skills: First-class copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone of voice dependent on the audience, with flawless grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Design Skills: You’ll have cracking design skills to help create graphics, internal comms materials, video, and be a brand guardian.
Collaborative: Work collaboratively to build relationships with stakeholders, always listening and building on feedback.
Multitask and Prioritise: Ability to multitask and prioritise with good organisational skills and time management.
Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Video editing software, and managing communications platforms.
Video Creation: Ability to create and edit video, typically on a smartphone.
Team Player: A team player who embraces the company culture and gets involved.
Positive Attitude: A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
